These are Hansom cab drivers' halts built between 1875 and 1914, with a cafe inside, used by black taxi cabbies and in the know building workers for cheap tea and food. Only 13 still exist, all listed grade II, and a special charity runs them all.

Pity they don't list all the old telephone boxes too, and the post boxes.
