I like it much more than the Minox 35 because it has reliable a shutter and better viewfinder.

Yes the A100 is very nice, it was my first "serious" digital because I already had some Minolta AF lenses. If the shutter button makes trouble (the weak point of the A100), cleaning spray for electronic devices applied at the gap of the button and then firing it 100 times without batteries fixed it for me - my middle finger for Sonys planned obsolescence.
And now the very affordable A58 is my favorite "scanner" for bw negatives. But it already got a new mainboard during the guarantee period. Mishap again for Sony, it broke too fast. Enough lament for today, fortunately there is still some fun:
