Maybe not something that needed looking into just now, but a useful exercise that added to my understanding of how ipernity works.
This is not a bug - only the newest 100 added favs are selected, and then the unique names listed for display in the drop-down.
The coding could be changed, but only after checking the consequences, which could be a slow response, which is most likely the reason for the design. A slow response might be ok for the user waiting for such a list, but if it slows down the responses for everybody, that would not be acceptable.
If all 100 are by different authors, then the pull-down would have 100 items, so again the designed method has been given thought.
Nice to have: alphabetic list,
and with number of pics? - no, as it would only be out of the newest 100.
(For the French "ascenseur", DeepL does suggest lift and scrollbar as alternatives to elevator, that term being a cause of confusion), yes, like an elevator, the vertical scrollbar goes up and down.
