I very much like this street photo. The eye connection between the person and the dog, and the dog having a gaze off camera is engaging. The composition of the image is wonderful.
I do have some thoughts on this black and white version.
***Please ignore the following if you aren't interested in such things (and tell me so I don't make any such comments in the future).***
I find my eye travels along the bench and back to the woman in the background's white shirt. But it seems the point of the photo is the woman and her dog. So I would consider modifying the image a little bit to bring the main topic of the photo out more. Some options I would try are:
- darkening the woman in the background (that bright white draws one eye to stay there)
- minor brightening of the dog's front fur (in the color image, that area stands out more, but in the black and white is appears dull). maybe even brightening the dog's face as well.
- darkening the shoes of the woman on the bench.
- one could also play with what the background looked like blurred more than it is, but my first guess is that it's best as it is.
But even without any changes, this is a very enjoyable image.
