O fim de semana na Avenida Paulista
On Sundays, Avenida Paulista in São Paulo is closed to cars and becomes a long pedestrian zone with a lively street‑festival atmosphere, where you’ll often find Andean folk musicians in traditional or Andean‑inspired dress playing pan flutes, quena, charango and bombo drums, sometimes forming small moving groups that weave through the crowd in informal, parade‑like formations among the food stalls and craft vendors; as you walk the avenue—especially from midday to late afternoon—you can simply follow the distinctive high‑pitched flutes and steady drum rhythms to find them, listen, and photograph their performances.
