The Parthenon In Nashville, Tennessee, 1959

Nashville, Tennessee has always been known as the "Athens Of The South," so this full-scale replica of The Parthenon was built as the centerpiece for their 1897 Centennial Exposition.

When my parents got married in 1959, they chose to go to Nashville for their honeymoon. They photographed this other Parthenon while there.

Interesting. Does it have its marble sculptures intact, as they should be?

HaarFager replied to Steve Bucknell:

Yes! They even recreated the six foot tall statue of Athena Parthenos in the east room of the main hall.

To be honest I prefer the original.
