Remember

An old headstone near our local reservoir. The name on it reads, “Thomas Langford,” and tells how he fought in the Blackhawk War. This was a brief but bloody war with the Blackhawk Indians in Northern Illinois from April to August 1832. He was born on February 24th, 1814, and died on March 28th, 1854. I hope he packed a lot of living in his 40 years here on the earth.
