Tomato Blooms
I started growing some tomato plants from seeds last year around July (2022.) Most of them I transplanted outdoors on August 29th, but I planted them too late and cold weather set in before they could grow big enough. But I kept two plants to experiment with and attempt at growing them indoors. This picture is one of those plants and they're starting to put on blooms.
What you see is actually two blooms that have opened. (One is covered up by the main one in front.) They are the biggest blooms and the first to open up. But there are lots more coming in all over each plant. They seem to be doing well. They are by a window in my library where they can get plenty of sun, but no cold temperatures.
I just think it's so fascinating to be able to watch them grow every day and take care of them. I'm not sure what variety they are because the seeds came from a tomato I bought at the local grocery store downtown. But, I've had great success doing that with their tomatoes before, so I'm confident it will work again.
