I'd have been tempted to take the whale watching tour:-)

We did. It was a great experience, and we saw whales, and dolphins, interesting to see the local coastline. Our (personal) best whale watching cruise was out of Hervey Bay in Queensland. However, locally they have had some amazing close encounters. There were problems with keeping the entrance to the harbour dredged, and now they seem to be doing just lake cruises.
Whale watching lookouts along the coast here, and cruises out of Port Macquarie.

Yes we did, a couple of years ago, and also up in Queensland.

We'll probably do the lake cruise later this month. They might do the whale watching again in the season, which is later in the year.
