Butcherbird

Sunday challenge - the Animal World

... beautiful, haunting, flute-like song which may be given throughout the day and sometimes well into moonlit nights. Once heard, the song is difficult to forget, and it has been described as ‘one of the finest in the world’.

What a great looking bird. I've not heard of it, it looks quite similar to our magpies. Maybe it'll visit you again, when your cat isn't around.

Gillian Everett replied to Jenny McIntyre:

We have screens around the deck which are often down, but these birds are very cheeky, and often pop in looking for snacks.
