Chough and rabbits

I finally managed to complete my photographic collection of UK corvids, when we spotted a pair of Chough digging for food around a large rabbit warren on the north Cornwall coast.

Here's one of them, with distinctive red bill and legs, together with a couple of well camouflaged rabbits.

How interesting. I'm surprised that crows and ravens don't feature more in English stories and fables, as they're such intelligent creatures. (Though I think most 'English' fairy tales have their roots in Europe (via the Brothers Grimm in Germany and Hans Christian Andersen in Denmark.) I'll have a look at Celtic sources like the Mabinogion to see if they feature more there.
