A new generation of squirrels

We fill a couple of feeders with peanuts in a (mostly successful) attempt to stop the local squirrels eating our garden plants.

Two young ones have discovered the resource, and have spent the last couple of days rampaging around and squabbling noisily. Here, they are both trying to win possession of the feeder.

This is really funny. Grey squirrels are such pests in a garden, but you seem to have worked out how to control them without resorting to drastic measures.

Gavin Johnson replied to Amelia:

It's not perfect - they're still really fond of sunflower heads - but the main problem is their instinct to bury the nuts "for later" every time the weather gets a bit cold :-)
