One thing I have only recently realized, Don, is the high quality of a lot of the ironwork in Toronto. A lot of it is due to the arrival of Italian ironworkers in the 1950s. I think I've mentioned before how they saved a lot of deteriorating porches in Toronto by replacing the old brick-and-wood supports for the porch roof, which were bowing, with decorative ironwork.
