Honest Ed's, 2010

Toronto. My favourite moment in Ed's was seeing a group of men in Mao jackets being escorted past a display of backlit Last Suppers. They had clearly been overwhelmed by the range of Ed's stock. The store was opened in 1948 by Ed and Anne Mirvish and closed in 2016. Even when I was a tiny child I thought the store was crowded with merchandise, so you can imagine how it seemed when I was older.

The PiP at top left shows a longer view of thw same elevation, with some of Ed's typical signs.

A wonderfully colourful sign John..............I bet it once looked even better when I was all lit up in the dark.

I thought the name of the store seemed familiar and when I clicked on the PiP I found I'd seen and commented on it before. It was nice to have another look though :-)
