The more I look at this, the less I understand it. Are those really balconies that don't connect with any apartment doors? Or just landings for the fire escape? And how that works is beyond me. It looks like each segment ends in midair, to the far side of the balconies. Okay - it's late in the evening, and I've had a martini - and I was raised in the farm and small town country...

It's a fire escape, Bob, but I can't see either how you would get onto the fire escape. I think I took a few shots from angles so I'll check them. Thanks for pointing that out.
