Striking color! But the one most nearly complete was defiled by some gray-blue paint (or maybe pigeon droppings?) I can't imagine where you found these, but it took a good eye to make an interesting shot out of them.

Thanks, Bob. I think it's paint. Bird droppings are streaky (you may remember my Pigeonalism post of long ago -- actually I suppose not -- but trust me on this, my neighbourhood in Toronto was a good spot for ornithoscatology). Oh -- these were just lined up in the street awaiting deployment.
