Toronto trams often have their own signals, but I think this one is for trams, too. The gooseneck lamps were disappearing for a while, but they may have gone back to them. They are très cool.

Thanks, Keith. Traffic lights with yellow surrounds do stand out, so they're probably safer than ones with black surrounds because they're easier to notice. But in Toronto, of course, they put 24 at every major intersection so no one knows which is for what.
