A compelling shot. I'm at a loss to say why it works, but it does - and not just because it's a clever self-portrait. The dull color scheme is just what it deserves. The large area of tan wall in contrast to the almost offhand vision of a soulless-modern building must have a message or several messages for us, but I won't trivialize the shot by offering any.
If you were praying for a shot that would have both Bob and I at a loss for words why this is photograph is both compelling and confounding, your prayer was answered.
I would however venture to say that the glimpse of the photographer in action is the charm.
Dans la composition complexe de cette image, dont la profondeur de champ est parfaitement maîtrisée, le photographe, présent, témoigne de la solitude de cette ville engourdie dans la grisaille d'un hiver qui n'en finit pas....
To be honest I didn't really look too much at the background...............i was more interested in what appeared initially, to be a large television on the right hand side of the shot.
It turns out that you are the star of the show! A very unusual, but compelling selfie my friend!
