I like the somewhat rough-hewn quality of the background pieces, which (to my mind) accentuate the loneliness, or otherness, of the image as a whole. The moonlit snow looks even more desolate & eerie than the lunar landscapes; and yet they complement each other. I like that the astronaut's faceplate reflects that landscape, rather than showing his face ... or IS that landscape his face, his true face?
Thanks for your commentary, Tim!. I was hoping to find one larger piece of moonscape than that, but I guess the strips did work out OK. The lighting in the snow photo blew me away. I'm always a sucker for collage elements that have good lighting!
