This construction with a roof in front of the well known Fondation Pescatore is a well hidden aeration from the underground casemate system. Former Berlaimont Reduit and Fort Charles. During the period of cold war this historic underground fortress was - in case of an atomic war - arranged as a a bunker for the Government of Luxembourg. This aeration you see in front integrated in the fence was equipped with a very simple filter system. During my activ time as geologist I had access to those old casemates and discovered an impressive wine collection underneath the Pescatore, an old people‘s home?
