Tree trunk and bark patterns 2
A misty winter's day walk in the woodland of the the Limb Valley in south-west Sheffield. The trees looked lovely and mysterious in this very atmospheric lighting.
This tree had a very curious pattern on its bark and beneath, where patches had scaled off. I think it is a sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus) but judging from its appearance, none too healthy :-(
