Wishing everyone a very happy Hanukkah

Hanukkah, (Hebrew: “Dedication”) also called Feast of Dedication, Festival of Lights, or Feast of the Maccabees, is a Jewish festival that begins on Kislev 25 (usually in December, according to the Gregorian calendar) and is celebrated for eight days. Hanukkah reaffirms the ideals of Judaism and commemorates in particular the rededication of the Second Temple of Jerusalem by the lighting of candles on each day of the festival. This year Hanukkah is celebrated from Monday, December 19 to Monday, December 26.

Thank you and Happy Hanukkah, Eva! :-)
I used to celebrate it when I lived in Israel and I still have my little chanukkia that I bought there.

Eva Lewitus replied to Edna Edenkoben:

Thanks, Edna, lighting a new candle every night, is a lovely tradition, especially if you have children around you. There are lovely chanukkias, some are real works of art. Wishing you happy holidays!

I agree, it's a lovely tradition and usually children enjoy it a lot. And I've seen some beautiful chanukkias, amazing works of art, as you said.

Thank you, Eva! Starting tomorrow evening... :-)
