It's hard to get a grip on the pool noodles with her tiny little mouth, and the combination of the length of the noodle and the shape of the end of the pool around the stairs makes it hard for a tiny Yorkie to drag the noodle out of the pool without hitting the side, potentially losing her grip on it or even being pulled back into the water. And so Layla set about trying to "fix" her new favorite toys... Her first attempt was to make the noodles shorter - she cut about a foot off the end of one of the noodles. :D (we watched her carefully to make sure that she wasn't actually eating any of the pieces) That helped a bit, but after a few rounds of fetch with the altered noodle she got to work on another one, taking a chunk out of the side near the ends so that she'd have a "grab" zone where she could get a better grip on it and more easily control it...
