I always find intriguing these grand old hotels in places that are now way past their prime. The Hotel de Anza, opened in 1931, only 4 blocks from the border. During prohibition it was popular with celebrities gambling in Mexico, but began to fade with the end of prohibition in 1933. It's now senior housing. See:
