Cloisonné vase
This vase is one of a pair, among the largest examples of Japanese cloisonné in the world. Frederick Horniman comissioned them to be made as examples of the technique. In cloisonné, a design is outlined in flattened wire laid over a metal base and the spaces are filled with coloured enamel.
