Die Spitfire war schneller und wendiger als die Me 109 -

I think the Me 109 was better armed than the early versions of the Spitfire and I think the Me 109 had fuel injection which allowed it some manoeuvrers that the Spitfire couldn't do without the engine cutting out. (I'm not an expert, I just enjoy taking photos of things flying).
