You know, I've never been as happy as I was this morning!
We were walking on a beach that kind of looked like this one.
It was in autumn, a sunny autumn,
A season that exists only in Northern America.
Over there they call it the Indian summer,
But it simply was ours!
With your long dress, you looked
Like a watercolor by Marie Laurencin,
And I remember, I remember very well
What I told you that morning,
One year ago, one century ago, ages ago!

We will go wherever you want, whenever you want,
And we will still love each other, even if love itself were to die!
Our whole life will be the same as this morning,
In the colors of the Indian summer.

Today I'm far away from this autumn morning,
But it feels as if I was there. I'm thinking of you .
Where are you? What are you doing? Do I still mean to you?
I'm looking at this wave that will never reach the moon.
