Monday 21 September 2026 (around 1220) - Since the closure of the enquiry office inside the bus station building, where just the public toilets were retained, the remaining area had been unsuccessfully advertised for let as a retail opportunity. It was finally decided to convert the unit for use as a town banking hub following the closure of the Lloyds and Barclays banks and the Post Office. Building work was taking place for the new use.

Over the past days the contractors had been erecting fence panels fixed to large concrete block and by now this was complete and the raw wood panels painted.

Mulleys Motorways Limited YJ23 EKN was working the Holywell Row and Beck Row to Bury St. Edmunds service 355 (1220 from Mildenhall). It is one of the two Optare MetroDeckers delivered to Mulleys in March 2023 which were part of an order placed by Reading Buses in June 2018 to operate the Green Line branded route 702 from London to Slough, Windsor and Legoland. Reading Buses cancelled the order in July 2020 as part of a number of financial cutbacks made following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. (Optare was renamed Switch Mobility in November 2020).
