Friday 3 July 2026 (0924) – Taken from one of my regular spots at Fiveways, Barton Mills this shot shows Mulleys Motorways YJ23 EKN in the morning traffic as it worked the 0920 service 355 from Mildenhall to Bury St. Edmunds. The traffic lights hold the A11 vehicles giving the A1101 traffic from Mildenhall the green light, much better than the days before the lights were introduced (18 November 2018 that was!). Back then a bus driver had to elbow his way out onto the roundabout into the regularly blocked queues to the sound of less than tuneful car horns!!

The bus is one of the two Optare MetroDeckers delivered to Mulleys in March 2023 which were part of an order placed by Reading Buses in June 2018 to operate the Green Line branded route 702 from London to Slough, Windsor and Legoland. Reading Buses cancelled the order in July 2020 as part of a number of financial cutbacks made following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. (Optare was renamed Switch Mobility in November 2020).
