TMS/Central Connect/Simonds (Flixbus contractor) 418 (YK25 OME) at Fiveways, Barton Mills - 2 Apr 2026 (P1230178)
Good Friday 3 April 2026 (1827) - Transport Made Simple/Simonds of Botesdale Limited 418 (YK25 OME), a Yutong GT12 new in April 2025, seen at Fiveways, Barton Mills when working the 1600 Flixbus service 007 from London (Victoria Coach Station) and Stratford to Thetford and Norwich.
This is the coach that worked the inaugural run of the Flixbus service 007 on Maundy Thursday 17 April 2025 and since then has been the main performer on the route. The original service ran twice daily Norwich-Thetford-Stratford but on 1 April 2026 this was changed to become one daily trip running through to Victoria Coach Station, London.
Transport Made Simple is the named contracted operator for the service. At the start the vehicles were provided by their Simonds subsidiary however, some of the vehicles now seen carry the legal name of Central Connect Transport Limited also owned by Transport Made Simple. (This may simply be inter group transfers or might be interworking with other services).
Having departed Victoria at 1600 it had called at Stratford (due there 1705-1710 but arrived at 1656 and departed at 1713). Thetford was its next stop (due 1855-1900 but reached there at 1842 and departing at 1853). Arrival at Norwich was 1932 some 23 minutes ahead of schedule (due 1955). (See photograph of the timings shown on my mobile phone).
(My observations showed the southbound service the previous day was worked by 419 (YK25 OMF) with 420 (YK25 OMG) working the northbound service. The southbound run this day (3 April) was also worked by 420).
