Stagecoach East 15220 (YN15 KHT) at Longstanton - 9 Sep 2025 (P1220146)
Tuesday 9 September 2025 (0931) – Stagecoach East 15220 (YN15 KHT), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 bodied Scania N230UD new in August 2015, seen at Longstanton on the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway. It was working service 5 which runs from here via Longstanton village and Bar Hill to Cambridge city centre.
Clearly a bus equipped with Busway guide wheels, it now wears the 2020 version of the group’s ‘local services’ livery having previously carried the ocean green ‘specialist services’ livery for buses used on the Busway. (In April 2025 Stagecoach announced the introduction of a new all-over dark blue corporate livery but some new buses delivered around that time to various subsidiaries, and what might be a recently repainted bus like this seen here, have appeared in this older style scheme).
The depot at Fenstanton provides the buses for services 5 (Longstanton P&R-Bar Hill-Cambridge) and 5A in addition to all those required for the company’s Busway services.
The departure stand in the photograph is that for Cambridge by Busway services. Service 5 departs from a stand on the hidden side of the building. I believe the bus was moving round to load as the 0930 service to Cambridge, a journey of 50 minutes to Emmanuel Street. Service A via the Busway is timed to take 27 minutes to New Square (in reality the next bus along took 32 minutes according to the tracker on the Bus Times website). Service B, which terminates at Drummer Street Bus Station which is closer to Emmanuel Street, takes a couple of minutes more. Tiger service T1 operated by Whippet Coaches is timed at 27 minutes to the Bus Station.
