Friday 22 August 2025 (1125) – Mulleys Motorways YJ23 EKO seen in departing Mildenhall bus station working the 1120 service 355 to Bury St. Edmunds.

It is an Optare Metrodecker one of two such buses (with YJ23 EKN) delivered on Friday 24 March 2023. Powered by Mercedes-Benz engines these integral buses were part of an order placed by Reading Buses in June 2018 to operate the Green Line branded route 702 from London to Slough, Windsor and Legoland. The order was cancelled in July 2020 as part of a number of financial cutbacks made following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the built buses stored until new buyers were found. (Built by Optare before the company became Switch Mobility in November 2020).

In recent years the number of traders attending Mildenhall’s weekly market has reduced significantly although a clothing seller still regularly sets up his racks under the canopy of the small shopping precinct.
