Konectbus (Chambers) 455 (AN61 LAN) in Bury St. Edmunds – 21 May 2025 (P1210052)

Wednesday 21 May 2025 (1255) – Konectbus Chambers (Go East Anglia) 455 (AN61 LAN) was about to enter Bury St. Edmunds bus station to load as the 1300 service 375 to Clare. It is a Scania K230UD OmniLink, that had been new to Anglian Bus in October 2011 and has a registration number in a style that almost spells out the Anglian name.

Anglian Bus was acquired by Go-Ahead in 2012 and almost immediately was merged with Konectbus which Go-Ahead had acquired two years earlier. At around the same time Go-Ahead acquired the businesses of H C Chambers & Son Limited and Hedingham Omnibuses Limited. Those names were retained as brand names after their operations and licences were placed under the control of Konectbus in 2018.

I have read that there is a plan to unify these different names under a common brand in the near future.

In the background emerging from the bus station exit road is Coach Services Limited of Thetford YT09 YHM, an Optare Omnidekka bodied Scania N270UD new in May 2009 to Nottingham City Transport (965), working the 1158 service 84 from Brandon (London Road). I had just arrived on this bus and it was now continuing to West Suffolk Hospital.
