Saturday 4 February 1995 (0943) – Despite its profusion throughout the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company Limited operating network, the Leyland National was rarely seen in Mildenhall. (LN575 and LN577 had spent a limited period attached to Mildenhall outstation in late 1983/early 1984)

In the days leading up to this photograph LN591 (WAH 591S), which dated from September 1977, worked a few trips on the Thetford-Brandon-Mildenhall-Newmarket service 200. I think it was temporarily assigned to Bury garage perhaps covering for a Bury vehicle undergoing work at Ipswich.
The destination screen partly shows Aldeburgh although it wasn’t bound for the seaside but to landlocked Newmarket.
