Premier Travel Services 3 & 34 timetables - 1972

Premier Travel holiday services timetables 3 and 34 – Summer 1972

Before the creation of Premier Travel in the 1930s, Arthur Lainson had created Undergraduate Roadways whilst at University. His first coach service was that from Cambridge to Skegness which later became Premier Travel service 3 and the service operated for over 50 years, in later years commencing at Haverhill. In 1949 the company introduced service 34 running from Bedford to Skegness and Mablethorpe.

These are the 1972 timetables for the two services.

By the 1980s both services had been revised and were linked at Huntingdon. The Bedford service, then extended back to start at Luton, operated as a feeder to the main Haverhill-Skegness service although the Mablethorpe extension had ceased some years earlier.

In order to offer the maximum range of travel opportunities the company’s timetable booklet contained information on different connecting service opportunities. Two examples are included on the pages shown here.
