PremierTravel RVE 296S at Butlins, Skegness - 20 Jul 1985 (22-46)
Saturday 20 July 1989 - Premier Travel Services 274 (RVE 296S), a Plaxton Supreme bodied AEC Reliance new in 1978, seen at Butlins Holiday Camp in Skegness.
I was allocated this coach all day and started by driving empty from Cambridge to Luton to work what was normally just a feeder service (at 0840) from there via Bedford and St. Neots to Huntingdon to connect with the Haverhill-Cambridge-Skegness service 3.
However, since two coaches were required between Huntingdon and Skegness, I worked through from Luton to Skegness – and thus correctly showed service 34 on the destination blind - travelling with 255 (KVE 906P) from Huntingdon which had worked through from Haverhill.
Not required for a return journey I returned empty from Skegness to Cambridge arriving at 1735. The feeder line from Luton upon reaching reaching Bedford (0915) also acted as the feeder service for the joint Premier Travel/Yorks Northampton-Hunstanton-Cromer service 40. (Ref: 22-46)
