Eastern Counties VR206 (XNG 206S) on the A11 at Barton Mills – 14 Oct 1995 (292-05)
Saturday 14 October 1995 - During repairs to the A11 dual carriageway near Barton Mills there were different local diversions in force resulting in sightings of buses where they would not normally been seen.
The eastbound carriageway was closed and the westbound carriageway working as a contra-flow with traffic running in both directions. As a result traffic wishing to turn right to Barton Mills near the now long closed Dog & Partridge Inn and The Bull Inn had to travel to Chalk Hill to make the turn and then travel back on the old road to reach the Dog & Partridge.
Eastern Counties Omnibus Company VR206 (XNG 206S), an Eastern Coachworks bodied Bristol VR new in March 1978, was seen travelling between Fiveways and Chalk Hill when working the 1215 service 155 from Bury St. Edmunds to Mildenhall, Beck Row and West Row.
