Percivals Motors/Abingdon Coaches 5615 RO on the A11 near Barton Mills – 12 May 1985 (17-18)

Sunday 12 May 1985 (approx. 1225) - Percivals Motors (Oxford) Limited acquired the Abingdon Coaches business from the Williamson family circa 1982. Duple Dominant bodied 5615 RO was operating the 0820 Oxford-Thetford (1315) service 747, part of a cross-country service between Bristol and Lowestoft worked jointly by Percivals, Premier Travel and National Express. The location is on Chalk Hill between Red Lodge and Barton Mills.

This journey was introduced with the new summer timetable on Sunday 28 April 1985 providing an earlier departure from Oxford that also served Mildenhall, RAF Mildenhall, RAF Lakenheath and Brandon rather than running non-stop from Newmarket to Thetford. Arriving Thetford at 1315 it returned as the 1400 Thetford-Oxford service arriving there at 1855.
