Wednesday 4 September 2024 (0841) – Local schools resumed today after the summer holidays. Mil-Ken Travel continues to be a regular operator of Suffolk County Council school transport contracts.
MIL 1803 seen in Queensway, Mildenhall as it headed to Mildenhall College Academy/The Hub. It is a Plaxton Elite i Interdeck bodied Volvo B11RT new in March 2015 to Go-Ahead owned City of Oxford (74) registered X90 OFD for work on service X90 between Oxford and London.
It was re-registered OW15 WKB when transferred to Go-North East as their 2151 to operate on Newcastle-Middlesbrough ‘X Line’ services and was re-registered again to XL09 NCL – another plate that reflected the work it did with letters meaning ‘X Line’ and Newcastle.
The main deck of this model has seating for about 62 passengers on the main deck accessed by stairs. The area by the driver’s cab/passenger entrance has 3 seats and an open area for a wheelchair bound passenger.
