Thursday 18 July 2024 (1006) – Traffic chaos in Mildenhall : 2 of 6

Re-surfacing in a side road (Shrublands) off King Street in Mildenhall caused quite a bit of traffic chaos as the vehicles of the contractor moved in and out. ‘Stop/Go’ boards controlled the traffic with queues of traffic running back from the War Memorial junction to Kingsway, North Terrace, Queensway and High Street as well as blocking King Street itself.

In this view the traffic was stopped both ways as the large road surface stripping machine turned round. The low loader that had brought it was parked alongside Heron Foods (behind the camera) close to the bus station exit causing further chaos.
