Ipswich Buses 36 (YR61 RUC) and 33 (YR61 RRV) - 5 May 2024 (P1180166)
Sunday 5 May 2024 – Ipswich Buses 36 (YR61 RUC) and 33 (YR61 RRV) seen through the fencing at the Ipswich Buses garage yard in Sir Alf Ramsey Way, Ipswich.
Both are Scania N230UD OmniCity double deckers that had been new to Centrewest (London) in October 2011 as their SN36054 and SN36038 latterly operated by Metroline West as SN1942 and SN1926.
Ipswich Buses has around 23 buses like this which were new to different operators to work Transport for London (TfL) contracts.
For a number of years Ipswich Buses named all of its vehicles but now only a few carry names. This bus is named ‘Kevin Beattie - ITFC No. 6’, a footballer at Ipswich Town Football Club who died from cancer at the age of 64 in 2018.
