Preserved former Midland Red buses - 27 Jul 2019 (P1030276)

Saturday 27 July 2019 (1154) – Leicester Heritage Bus Running Day at the First Leicester Citybus garage.

Three preserved former Midland Red buses. Midland Red, originally more formally titled the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited (BMMO) before adopting Midland Red Omnibus Company Limited as its title, was perhaps the largest bus operator in provincial England. It built most of its own buses too.

Left is 5424 (EHA 424D), a Willowbrook bodied BMMO D9 new in April 1966. Centre is 5905 (PHA 505G), a BMMO bodied BMMO S22 new in August 1968. Right is 5919 (RHA 919G), a BMMO bodied BMMO S23 new in December 1968.
