Eastern Counties VR196 (TEX 406R) in Bury St.Edmunds - Sep 1990

September 1990 - Eastern Counties Omnibus Company VR196 (TEX 406R), an Eastern Coachworks bodied Bristol VR new in June 1977, seen in St. Andrew’s Street North, Bury St. Edmunds loading for Mildenhall and West Row on service 155. In February 1987 the company was privatised and sold to its management and, as far as I am aware, the National Bus Company retained ownership of the Brentgovel Street bus station site which was re-developed and is now occupied by retail premises. The departure points for the bus services were spread along St. Andrew’s Street prior to the new bus station being built. Unfortunately this is a hazy shot which features the backcloth of varied businesses located hereabouts.
