Beatrice, mantling - you're not getting my food...
The characteristic pose of hawks protecting their food/prey from others, with wings spread and covering what they are eating...keeping hawks is a grisly business and not for the faint-hearted - the regular fare is day-old chicks. (Beatrice is a Harris Hawk, belonging to a falconer friend)
