Challenge # 518 Closed

This past week we were giving thoughts of how to illustrate through a photograph the end of 2021 into 2022. Creative people that your are, you came through again. Thanks for your postings! : )

This little area of the world I call home ended 2021 with some rain, some sunshine, some wind, some warm weather and some chilly weather. We entered the New New Year with about 6 inches of snow dumped on us during the early morning hours of Monday. It's was almost gone by Monday evening with just some scattered areas that have yet to melt. Our first snowfall of 2022 has arrive!

Wow - that's a lot of snow, you should be here in the UK, it's only snowing in the north and I'm in the south - so no chance yet of any snow. It seems to have its own ecosystem here. As I'm housebound, I am well away from the virus and I've been vaccinated, plus had a booster, so I'm doing my bit of social distancing!!

Glad to hear that you are all set with the vaccines and the booster! That along with the masks and social distancing are all good to keep the viruses away but it's always good to be cautious no matter what. Our snow was gone by that afternoon, just a few patches that aren't in the sun. Sometimes the mountains help protect us from the severe weather. It seem if it hits the mountain at a certain angle it has a tendency to go off and around us. : )

Your weather sounds delightful Isabel. We don't normally get a lot of snow and the winter months are only about 3 months long. We have years where it did get nasty and bitter cold.

Must agree, it was a turbulent start but you can never really tell with weather. Took this photo from our window. We're on the second floor and can get a few pictures without cars and people. This time of the year the streets aren't very busy though. Hope you are well.

Yes it was cold that morning and the other day it was 10 degrees but brilliant blue skies and lots of sunshine. No snow since I took this shot. : )
