HAPPY BOXING DAY

The Sunday Challenge # 517 - BOXES

A few items from my collection of boxes:

Black vintage English coin box
A small vintage flowered ceramic trinket box
A wooden vintage French coin box
A box for holding a deck of playing cards.
All of the above sitting on a vintage English tin document box.
(The tin is vintage the paint is not)
Box of Truffles (not part of the collection)


Happy Boxing Day - Stay Cautious Regarding Covid19 And Omicron

I grew up being told that boxing day was for taking simple Christmas gift boxes to friends and others you couldn't be with on Christmas Day. Also that well to do families presented gifts to their staff and their children on Boxing Day in thanks for their service throughout the year. Some Churches presented boxes of items to the poor according to some friends.

Thank you Jenny. I don't know why but I have always been fond of "boxes". Not sure how many there are around here but I do enjoy them.

Hi Gillian, thank you, a friend's mother painted the old tin box. She also painted a vintage, tin, English Hat Box. Glad you like it. : )
