La "Petite cité de caractère" Quintin était au XVe siècle une ville fortifiée. Seules sont conservées de la cité médiévale, les enceintes et la Porte-Neuve (1er PIP), composée en partie par l'ancienne tour des Archives. A partir du XVIIe siècle est construit l'actuel château qui reste inachevé. C'est seulement depuis quelques années que le vieux logis du château fait l'objet d'un important programme de restauration.

REMAINS OF THE OLD FORTIFICATIONS. Quintin, "small town with character" was a fortified town in the 15th century. The only remains of the medieval town are the fortifications and the Porte-Neuve (1st PIP), which was partly formed by the old Archives tower. The current castle was built in the 17th century, but was left incomplete. It is only in recent years that the castle's old dwelling has been the subject of a major restoration programme.

RESTE DER ALTEN FESTUNGSANLAGEN. Quintin, "Kleine Stadt mit Charakter" war im 15. Jh. ein befestigter Ort. Von der mittelalterlichen Stadt sind nur die Stadtmauern und die Porte-Neuve (1. PIP) erhalten, die zum Teil aus dem ehemaligen Archivturm bestand. Ab dem 17. Jh. wurde das heutige Schloss gebaut, das jedoch unvollendet blieb. Erst seit einigen Jahren ist das alte Schlossgebäude Gegenstand eines umfangreichen Restaurierungsprogramms.
