The square of the "father of the metro" - HBM

This is the name given to the engineer Fulgence BIENVENÜE (1852-1936) whose major work was the construction of the Paris metro. For more than thirty years, devising sometimes daring construction techniques, he supervised the construction and extension of the network, hence his nickname.

LE SQUARE DU "PERE DU METRO". C'est ainsi qu'est appellée l'ingénieur Fulgence BIENVENÜE (1852-1936) dont l'œuvre majeure est la construction du métro de Paris. Pendant plus de trente ans, imaginant des techniques de construction parfois audacieuses, il supervise la construction et l'extension du réseau, d'où son surnom.

DER PLATZ DES "VATERS DER METRO". So wird der Ingenieur Fulgence BIENVENÜE (1852-1936) genannt, dessen Hauptwerk der Bau der Pariser Metro war. Mehr als dreissig Jahre lang, manchmal mit teilweise gewagten Bautechniken, überwachte er den Bau und die Erweiterung des Netzes, was ihm seinen Spitznamen einbrachte.
