I worked in the vineyards of Visan in 1977! It hadn't then been promoted to Côtes-du-Rhône-villages AOC appellation status and in truth was still a fairly rough, if honest, wine. Modern viticulture techniques have improved it no end and I have enjoyed the occasional bottle in recent years.
