Approaching rain

by Chris Bowness
When I took this, my friend and I were in the last hour of a long walk out from Meanach bothy. We thought we would have time to put our waterproofs on when the rain started, but we didn't. The rain is some of the heaviest I've experienced and I got soaked. Even my old Canon in it's waterproof bag was swimming. My boots were full of water from the rain running down my leg. Luckily I had spare clothes so when we finally reached the car, I had to change everything.. yes, even my pants were soaking!

A fine moody landscape Chris proving that good captures have no time limits. Nice also to prove that we don't always need blue sky's and shadows for good landscapes. I have been to Kinlochleven and hiked the lower levels of these mountains and so know exactly how wet those tracks can get. Well done.

Thanks for sharing with our UK Landscape Photography Group , Herb

Thanks for the nice comment, Herb. I've got a gazillion pictures sitting on hard drives so it's great to give them some air. Thanks for sharing that lovely picture, I suspect it was from the same track. It is nice there.

Unusually sharp peaks for Scotland, aren't they? It looks romantic, but I believe on the way it was nothing of the sort... I experienced, and I do remember Scottish rain in the Highlands, it is how I discovered my love for whisky :D

Thank you m̌ ḫ . I like whisky too, but I usually avoid it as it goes to my head in record time! :)
